Pretty sure only the driver's side speaker produces sound for calls. Isn't there an OE updated microphone you can buy?

Do other phones sound OK?
As FSETH notes, only the driver's door midrange speaker produces phone sound. The other speakers are silent. One cause of poor caller audio is the location of the Bluetooth antenna or a disconnected BT antenna. The E46 official BT antenna location is on the back side of the center console-- under the arm rest. Look there to verify the BT antenna is solidly connected. Then, check that the BT antenna cable is solidly connected to the TCU or ULF module in the trunk. That is located on the electronics stack above the CD changer. Since you describe the clarity issue as both way (callers can't hear you and you can't hear callers), I suspect something related to the BT antenna. If other phones are OK, then you know it is the handset. If other phones are also problematic, then investigate the BT antenna and cable. If BT caller audio is only bad with the Sprint EVO 4g, it could be a problem with Sprint's Andriod BT stack or a BT antenna problem with your specific handset. Andriod phones are notorious for having problems with advanced BT hands free systems.

antennae
The sound comes from all speakers for the telephone. When it rings it crackles the pass door speaker horribly. I actually replaced the center console and didn't see any antennaes there. To get the phone to pair, I literally had to pull down the back seat and point it at the drivers rear trunk where I believe the BT unit resides. I've never used another phone so I can't comment on other phones. I can say that it doesn't load the phone book and only does calls. I've also heard of an updated mic anyone have PN? I've also heard of people replacing the location of the mic with the sunroof switch to get it closer to the driver?

I wonder if the previous owner did a Bluetooth retrofit and failed to install the BT antenna. If it will not pair unless you pull down the back seat and hold the phone toward the rear, that is a pretty convincing indicator that you have a antenna problem. You may have to access the phone module and trace the wiring. If it has a BT antenna, I would relocate it to the rear of the arm rest where it belongs.
Not loading the phone book is probably the fault of HTC's screwed up Bluetooth stack. That is typical of an Andriod phone. The newer mike part number is 84.31-6 938 762. You most likely have this already based on the model year of your car. However, if the PO did a retrofit, it is worth a look to confirm.

It's not, it comes through the front two channels only.
