Bluettoth pairs once then will not connect

I have the oddest problem with my BT on my E53. I have both a E39 and E53 and they both have BT installed. On the E39, my two iphones and blackberry all work flawlessly. On the E53, both of my iphones will pair once and that first time, will connect via BT. If I turn off the car and back on,either iphone will have problems trying to connect to the BT in the E53. I can see the BT icon on the phone go solid and then start to flash and back to dim. You can hear a slight popping noise in the audio of the car as it does this. I have deleted all the pairing on the BT in the E53 and it does not change the result. In short, I cannot use the BT if it am using one of my iphones.

I am about to start swapping parts between the E39 and E53 to track it down, I was thinking of starting with the antenna....any other thoughts from the group?

I would start by swapping the phone modules between cars. That is most likely the problem and very easy to access in both.

I finally figured this out without even swapping parts. Even though my e39 and E53 both have Bluetooth, they respond in different ways when they reach the phone book limit. My E39 simply says Phone Book empty while the E53 attempts to connect and when it cannot transfer the phone book, it drops the connection and reconnects again. By trimming down my contacts in the phone, the phone connects every time. Another option was to only sync the favorites and not the entire phone book. Odd given that the BT ULF in the E39 is older then the E53.
