2005 X5 4.8is - Bluetooth Success Story...
Regarding Bluetooth, I read in one of the threads that early 2005 X5 does not come with BT Module yet I also read that yes they do and the ones that do have the module installed on the top space over the DVD Nav deck...well through the assistance of this wonderful forum, I found both to be false. I wish to contribute what I accomplished with pictures below... I opened the back up expecting to have to tear apart the entire quarter panel to find this thing (I am BRAND NEW to this vehicle and BMWs in general) and on the very bottom mounted SIDEWAYS I saw a teenie-tiny corner of what looked like the BT Module sticking up on an angle with something plugged into it (see PICTURE 2)....so: * I removed 3 phillips head screws (carpet cover - see PICTURE 2 / 3) * I removed 2 black plastic nuts in plastic frame beneath - this revealed 90% of the BT Module (see PICTURE 3 / 4) * I removed 2 white plastic nuts (top RT corner and holding on the black metal side bracket - see PICTURE 4) and the entire module comes out. I turned it over and there was my Pass Key (PK - see PICTURE 5)! The whole job took 15 minutes and I didn't break anything and there were no parts left over I put the ignition in the first position, activated Bluetooth on my iPhone, it quickly saw my X5 and asked for a PIN (entered my Pass Key) and it paired right up and loaded my entire phone directory onto the Nav screen. Unbelievable. I am hands free and I thank you Xoutpost.com for your assistance. To help others and give back a bit, I have attached pics below. This forum ROCKS!! Thank you Guys. Much respect ~ Joey Last edited by joemorelli99; 10-07-2012 at 04:40 PM. |

Hi,
I did actually what you did and the pass key has been removed. My 4.8is is also 2005. Where do I go from here. I have tried pairing previously without success. Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

Still can't figure out this bluetooth situation. I just came back from the dealership and my service adviser could not get the phone to pair either. He gave me a service report on the vehicle and I noticed that one of the line:
TCU ESN/TCU IMEI:14602576256 INACTIVE. Don't know if has anything to do with the bluebooth? I know for fact my vehicle is came with bluetooth because on the history sheet it states that the vehicle has: BMW Assist w/Bluetooth System. Please help. Thank you. |
