I just sent you an email with the details on your X5. It came with phone prep, so there is no reason that I can think of why the dealer shouldn't have been able to install the cradle in the console. Jeff

Jeff,
Thanks for the email. As I bought the vehicle second, hand there is some stuff in there I didn't know I had! But back to my problem...Since I have phone prep do Istill need this wiring harness extension? Or should I be able to buy the part and just snap it in? Anthony |

Take a look at the last 3 pictures in this article, as well as the description that goes with them - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=190
If the wiring connectors are there then you don't need the extension harness. If they aren't there then you'll likely need the extension cable. Jeff |

Ok I will give that a try. So basically if I see any wires whatsoever...last picture...I am in good shape?

Actually I found removing the cover below the armrest to be much easier than removing the oddament tray. If I was looking to see if the wiring was there, that's how I would go about checking it.
