How much it cost for a new AMP installed?

Excellent install! Couldn't have done it better myself I see that you're tapping into the primary side of the fuse (power distribution) box as well I'm currently doing the same thing, but I'm thinking about getting a 40A or 60A fuse for one of the spare slot and "double-fused" my power connection...I know...I'm just being a bit paranoid when it comes to electronics protection. Anybody know the part number for a 40A fuse that will work in the power distribution box? Oh...the type of nut used in those slots would be helpful too if anyone knows as the those empty slots don't have any nuts on them. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Where did you end up mounting your amp for the sub, by the way?

By the way, did you ever found the remote +12V wire? If you're still looking for one, you can use the wire for the power antenna (the white wire on the same wire bundle as your speakers to your OEM amp).

COol, i would check the white wire and see if it would work for the remote +12v. I have it on that red wire and i think its giving me a noise in the amp like a ground sound. If i tap on the wire(white) which is the antenna, it means the amp will turn off too when i turn off the Radio??? I will try this and i will move my remote wire on what you suggested. Cool.

The white wire will power on whenever the OEM amp is turned on, regardless whether you have CD, CD changer, AM, FM, Aux, etc...Good luck.

depending on your factory amp connector:
-15 pins connector: Remote +12V on pin 4
-12 pins connector: Remote +12v on pin 2.
-42 pins connector (2 connectors side by side 1grey, 1black): remote +12v on pin 10.

Always double check the voltage with a voltmeter before making the connection

Ooops, almost tap it on the white wire where i tap the speakers, i will do this by saturday. Yes mine was a 2 connectors gray and black, so the 10 pin where i have to tap on it.
Im also fixing my wirings again so every time i need a space at the back i could just pull the wires instead of inlockng them from the amp. I will take a pix for better understanding. Got a new Aux input too so thats another set of Learning the X5.
This is a great site and saves a lot of $$$$, dealers are so bad that they think you have all the money coz you have a beemer. My uncle works at ford service dept and a lot of crazzy things he share. And BMW service is just the same. This is better learning and knowing what we can do for our car.

If you have the 42-pin connector, which means you have the standard business radio (non-DSP and no NAV), pin 10 is the "white" antenna wire. This connector should also contain all your speaker wires. Did you NOT tap into your speaker from this connector too?
