ICELINK Trunk kit alternator whine drives me crazy

I recently purchased an Icelink plus and Icelink sourceselector for a BMW X5 2002 4.4i with the older style BM24 radio module.

Everything works fine, however there is substantial alternator whine with the Icelink connected. The Dutch importer Deynos adviced me to install a power filter, which I did but this did not improve the situation much.

Disconnecting the sourceselector also makes no difference. When the icelink is disconnected the alternator whine is gone.

Moving the icelink or cradle does not make any difference. Changing the output voltage of the ICElink also does not solve the problem.

On several forums (including this forum) I read that there is a cable modifiction available in the USA, however Deynos (the Dutch importer) is not able to supply me this info.

Does anyone know which options are left to solve the alternator whine?? (except disconnecting the ICElink of course :-) )
