NIB MB Quart BMW under seat subwoofers

Selling a brand new, never installed pair of MB Quart 8" or 20cm subwoofers specifically made to fit into the factory subwoofer enclosures under the front seats of most modern BMWs.

These subs are part of an audio system upgrade kit. The full kit originally comes with two tweeters and midrange speakers to replace speakers in the front doors of certain BMWs - as well as these two subwoofers that go in the factory enclosures under the front seats.... This subwoofer configuration is common in nearly all BMWs since the late 90's and they simply drop right in to the original enclosures!

This upgrade kit is amazing! I bought and installed the first of two of these kits for my 2008 X3. The sound quality was dramatically improved - it makes you realize how weak and cheap the basic sound system speakers are once you switch.
Anyway- I installed my first full kit in my front doors and under the seats. I then wanted to buy an additional set of the tweeters and midranges for the back doors to have a full car matched set.. Unfortunately, the tweeters and midranges are not available separately.. This forced me to buy another full kit and sell on these unused subwoofers on eBay..

The full kits sell for $400 to $600 on eBay! There are only a few sellers in Europe selling the woofers separately for over $300!

I have set a quick buy it now price making these the best priced ones in the world - and the only set for sale in America!

I can tell you first hand that if you have the standard sound system in your BMW - these subs, with much stronger magnets and power capacity, really tighten up the bass - they totally eliminate the muddy and boomy sound of the cheap originals.
They work fantastic with the existing amplification but with their extra power handling capacity are also great if you later want to go to the next step and add an amplifier to them while keeping your trunk free of a huge sub box! (I personally am happy with the factory amplification and do not plan to add any amplifiers)

I will ship these subwoofers in the original kit box with the installation manual.

Please do a bit of research on your BMW to assure yourself these fit in the sub enclosures under the front seats of your car as I am not offering a return on these.

A few questions about the speakers.
Are these 2 ohm?
Will these fit into the existing enclosure?
From everything I've researched so far they will fit my 2011 e92 M3 using the base HI FI amp unless someone has other inputs.

Yep these are 2 ohm. They are made specifically to fit in most bmws. The box specifically says the e9x 3 series sedan, coupe, convt.

I used these in a 2008 e83 x3 with the base stereo and love the results. I have read they are even better if you have the hifi or logic7 systems!

I have these on eBay at the moment and simply cut and pasted my description to this website. If interested you can buy via eBay

Although mb quart never claimed this would fit the e83 x3, I pulled the trigger anyway because all the speakers mounting spots looked identical to the stock ones in my car..

I learned that the subwoofers were a perfect drop in fit. Just had to remove the seats and the sub grills in the floor, undo 4 screws and wire harness... I had to crimp two u terminals onto the wires in place of the harness. But that was it. Super easy!

The door mids and tweeters were a totally different story!!!!! while the mounting screws looked similar in layout, they were not in the right places! Also, the door panel hole the mid fits in was too small. To complicate this I wanted the look of seeing the cones thru the grill - this required some moderate to heavy modding on the door panels. I removed the thick felt and 1/8" foam that was in between the speakers and the grills (this I believe was not helping the crappy sound btw), I then dremeled the hole bigger in the door panel. Because I wanted to see the cones thru the grill and the cones actually have "mb quart" silk screened on them, the logo needed to be perfectly horizontal when mounted. The three mounting ears on the speakers were in the completely wrong position to accomplish this. So I basically dremeled three indents into the speaker housings so the threaded fasteners on the door panel keyed into them. I then used washers and the factory nuts to hold down the speakers. The tweeters were also difficult. I got them to snap into the factory holes but had to Drexel apart the whole housing and leave material that would catch on the spring tabs in the door panel. It came out fantastic, and sounds amazing!

Keep in mind though. I had to do these mods because this system was not made for the e83 although the subwoofer was a direct replacement..

Nice job on the retrofit. Looks stock. I've bid on the Quarts but I haven't reached your reserve price. Yet......
