Icelink intalled - can I get text on Nav screen??

Had our icelink installed yesterday and am delighted with the sound quality, functionality etc.

I have managed to get text on the OBC display, but it would be so much better text were on the Nav screen. I could not see an option for the nav screen when I turned text on via the menu - it only said to turn on text press CD3 and it then appeared in the OBC display.

I searched the forum without success. Any ideas??

ID3 Text Activation Procedures
========================================

1) Select CD #6 on the Radio/NAV screen
2) Scroll to "Setup" on the ipod using the steering wheel controls and select setup menu by pressing on the UP arrow on the steering wheel for +3 seconds.
3) Scroll to "Text Selector" press on the UP arrow on the steering wheel for +3 seconds and and follow the instructions on your radio/navigation screen.
4) Text is now activated!

NAV users: Text can be toggled by using the "info" on your navigation screen

Tom, many thanks for the quick reply.

I have already enabled text using the method shown above, but the only option for text appears to be on the obc display and not the nav screen?

Also I have tried to toggle using the info button, but this just brings up FM radio options (I am in the UK)?

Am I missing something obvious?

The instructions to turn on text only appear in the obc and not on the nav screen after pressing up on the steering wheel.

The text can only be displayed on one field, you will have to choose the OBC or the NAV. If you want to send the text back to the NAV, you will need to turn off the text and follow the instructions over again - choosing the NAV screen when prompted.

I've got the same problem - when I follow these instructions, the ipod UI tells me to follow instructions on the OBC. The OBC tells me to select CD 3, and when I do this, it just says "Accepted", and displays text on the OBC. It seems that I have only got the option to have no text or text on OBC only.

Any ideas? Is firmware out of date on icelink or car possibly (Icelink is new, car is a late 2003 4.6iS)

Thanks.

The iPod actually says to follow the instructions on your car's display, and give you the options to put the ID3 text on the NAV or the OBC. Email me directly and we'll get you set up.
