Need help with AM after stereo upgrade...

I have NO AM reception after my stereo upgrade, which consists of an amp and speaker upgrade from a Nav/DSP stereo.

Any ideas regarding the loss of AM? Is there a wire for AM antenna in the harness I may have cut? I don't see it on the wiring diagram on the FAQ. Thanks.

Any chance you installed a Euro Stereo Head unit? Apparently they lack AM, since it's not used there. Hope that's not the case for your upgrade, but thought it might be helpful to know. There's another thread today that mentions this issue- I'll edit with the link if I find it shortly.

Update- OK, here's the quote from the Nav Retrofit thread:

Do your homework before you start buying parts...Good Luck!

When you totally lack AM, that is often an indication of the antenna being totally disconnected.

Is FM reception somewhat worse?

If NOT, see if you can seek AM stations with the amp fuse pulled (I know you won't be able to hear them). Some amps generate AM interference.

If FM is also somewhat worse, I suspect the antenna is unplugged or something like that.

I'm pretty sure it's the antenna, but I can't figure out where the antenna line is located.

I get VERY weak AM reception and FM is fine. Anyone know where the AM antenna goes in? Thanks.

The antenna is for both and is at the tuner module, which is usually under the spare.

But I'd pull the amp fuse first. Try it.

I'll try the fuse thing, but not sure it'll work. I still get AM reception, but it's REALLY bad, while FM is still OK.

So I pull the fuse and scan with AM to see if I lock in more stations?

Ditto. After upgrading to a eclipse DD. FM is weak, it's almost like listening to AM. Any help?
