Aux Input Install but no Aux Option

I have installed the Aux Input cable as described on this site, http://www.xoutpost.com/stereo-system...-input-x5.html

However now i have installed it, i press the Mode Button i still only get Tape, CD, or Radio?

I have tried plugging something in to the new Aux in cable, but i still get nothing.

I am probably doing something daft.

I have an 03 X5 with Widescreen Sat Nav Mark IV with OS upgrade v27 without DSP.

Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Bill.

There was no aux option before i fitted cable is this right?

I have checked everything again, still nothing. Cable seems fine..connections seem fine...

Does the aux cable need to be connected to say the ipod to get the aux option up? And does it need to be playing?

I assume i just press the mode button and an aux page will apear?

I will take it all out and do it again, just incase something is not connected correctly.

Thanks for the info.

no it is not need to be connected to anythig....but yes it should be obtion on your screen AUX...
it is a good idea to try connect CD player and play it .. may be it will allow streem of misic signal to flow via cable ( and if it will work cable is ok !!)and it will play ...varify if voliume will work too ..
Usually DSP make self scen and varifying what exactly connected..so..
again and again

Are you sure the radio module wasn't somehow swapped with a 2002 unit? They are plug compatible, but the 2002 radio module didn't support AUX input.

Tried taking the lead out, and starting again. No luck.

At the moment all i can think of is that the lead bmw gave me is faulty. So it is going in this afternoon to be checked, fingers crossed that is the problem.
