JL W7 rattle?
I have JL Audio 12" W7 powered wit a 1000/1 JL amp.
Im thinkin about putting that into my X5.

What are some suggestions for an install? I dont want anything custom just a box or the sub hidden somewhere? Any suggestions?

Also does the x5 rattle a lot when the music is played loud?

JL had a nice Prowedge enclosure with a dub 7 in it. im not sure if u can order the box alone from them.

people have complained about installing a new sub in the factory location because it vibrates the gas door. Need a shoe horn and a lot of custom fabrication to get a 12" sub in the factory location, but Janix did it. http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=118

I noticed that the X5 holds sound inside very well. I wish it didn't though, I like causing attention... I have a Kicker L7 12" right now in a vented box. I hit 149.89 dB. I plan on getting a W7.

I'd look at the Adrire Audio Brahma as an option too... it is a less money.


I have a AdireAudio sub in a box I built in my living room (15" Tempest) and it is amazing. My Subwoofer has a very high WAF (wife acceptance factor) since it doesn't look like a subwoofer.

Yes the 4.8 rattles, I am less than impressed with the DSP in the 4.8, The stereo in My Ml500 sounds better. I will definitely be changing some things. But I need a very clean look. I believe the JL 10 can be fit into the current space of the stock subs but will require some modifications.
