Sirius Issues...too!

So here's the story: I installed the Sirius receiver, and followed the instructions to the letter. For about a week after the installation, it worked flawlessly. Now, however, approx. 70% of the time the screen displays: "ACQUIRING," or the artist and song are displayed on the screen, and changes periodically, but there's no audio. I've checked and re-checked the connections, all of which are secure, but this hasn't fixed the problem. Has anyone had this issue? HELP! I'm so annoyed that I'm pretty darn close to uninstalling and selling the frickin' receiver.

I was wondering if there are too many peripherals using the antenna. I also have the 'phone cradle installed, and apparently that uses the antenna as well. I'm probably going to uninstall it, and stick to the iPod.

Can you post the part numbers of the components you installed? Also, I am pretty sure that the Sirius module has its own stand-alone antenna, and they are not typically pre-installed in the cars. So, unless you also installed the Sirius antenna, your car may not have one.

Where'd you install the antenna?

The part numbers are: Sirius Receiver - 65 12 0 398 140
Installation kit - 84 11 0 390 943
The installation kit contains several screws, nuts, bolts and an antenna connector.

The receiver uses the car's antenna, i.e. the shark fin. It's plug 'n' play. The car's prewired with a connection to the existing antenna.

Just to confirm, which antenna connector did you use (replace with the curry connector housing) - White or Blue? You should not have received a signal at all with the White housing.

I replaced the blue connector with the curry, and it worked seamlessly for about a week. Now? Nothin'.

The ACQUIRING message is signal related, I would place blame on the receiver before anything if your X3 was already equipped with the SA693 (Sirius prewire) package.

Was the receiver purchased new? If so - you should have a 1-year warranty from BMW.
