Thanks, I posted this in the X3 section because the question was in general since I have a 5 and a 3, this would actually be for my 5. Sorry for the lack of disclosure! I think the battery is in the front on the 5?

You know I really feel pretty stupid about now! This is a great site! Yes, It's an X5, My wife has a 04' 330 convertible as well. I am trying to get her to go for the 6 series.....
OK, great, then all I really need then it to tap into the speaker harness in the rear as well then. This should actually be an easy install. |

Yes, subwoofer installation is extremely simple - just tap into wiring in the rear of the vehicle AND you can get power / ground in the trunk. Couldn't be easier, really. You may need some additional accessories depending on your amplifier and what type of inputs it can accept (and whether or not you have the required power / ground and fuse holder, etc.) Feel free to contact me if you're not sure what you have or need.
By the way, for those of you who are in the same position as Finndog, here's a link to the BSW Stage 1 Audio Upgrade for the X5: http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/pr...I=386/_cid=174 And for those considering a subwoofer solution, here's a link just for the heck of it! http://www.bavariansoundwerks.com/pr...I=363/_cid=196

I'm two weeks into my MB Quart upgrade and they sound sweet now. Initially the highs were a little harsh and the bass was really lacking. After two weeks of breaking in the system sounds excellent. Highly recommended.
Just be careful in removing the doors (especially the back ones). |
