Best Radar Detector for X3?

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering what remote mount and portable radar detectors you would recommend for my X3?

I have read all aout the RX65 and 8500s. Which one gives you "more bang for the buck"?

How and where would you mount them? With a removable cord, or the hardwire kit?

Thanks!

I got my 8500 x50 blue for $275 at Best buy. I'm very happy with it and i think its the best overall value. The V1 is nice but $400???

Personally, I use the Passport 8500 X50, but I don't need to conceal it. If you want an ultra-cool, concealed set-up check out the Stealth One / Valentine combination (2 different companies) You end up spending about $600 between them, but it's a very nice install. The Stealth One unit interfaces with the OBC and displayes the radar detector data on the speedo readout.

V1/S1. No question.

V1 shows multiple threats AND where they are (FSR). S1 mutes the stereo when there's a threat.

This setup has saved by a$$ twice in the last week.

Only drawback is there isn't a place to conceal the V1 in the X5 (don't know about the X3) w/o losing rear and/or laser detection - at least none that I'm aware of.

Another vote for the ValentineOne/StealthOne combo.
