How does it sound...the most important question? Since it's a ported design, I would expect it to be a bit muddy at times?

1) Actually, they will be in phase.

2) A well-executed ported design shouldn't be muddy at times.

Of course, any box where all the audio comes through the ports (as in this bandpass) usually IS muddy at times.

i think it sounds really good. best i can describe is that is sounds like two 10 inch quality subs. i love it. no rattles at all in the entire car. thats new for me. usually after an install of a subwoofer i spend tow weeks tracking down all the rattles that make the sound quality horrible. but then again this is my first BMW and that says a lot.

BTW: it comes witha remote bass switch that is currently up by the e-brake. this weekend i need to mound it properly. ill post pics of that soon.
