Sirius questions....

hello all....

Just took delivery today of our new x3....we have nav, sirius and DSP.

With regard to the Sirius...is there any way to get a "guide" page that shows what's on, say, channel 187, if you are on channel 18? In other words, is there a directory or way to jump around w/out just scrolling through every channel?

Also...like cable tv, is there any way to get "info" on a song/artist? If, say, "Penny Lane" by the Beatles, can i click on the song to get the year it was recorded, etc?

Finally, is there up/down control on the steering wheel supposed to scroll channels up and down? Ours doesn't...it just stays on the same channel

Congrats on the new X and :xoutpost:

You can view the channel guide here

I'm not sure about the radio in the X3, but it should list the song title/artist. Someone else might have more info on that one.

The up and down on the steering wheel should move you through the presets. Try saving some channels in your presets and the up/down should work.

Hope this helps, and congrats again!

great thanks a lot...

It def shows artist/title....I was just curious if there was any way to get more info....I'm sure that is a Sirius question, not a BWM question.

Do you preset Sirius channels just like you would a radio station? and, if so, can you only save six such channels?

Yes, unfortunately you only get artist/title even with an external sirius receiver. I have both, opted to get the BMW unit so I didn't have to mess with mounting the unit.

We only get six presets with the BMW nav. Set them just like saving presets for the radio. Boy I sure do miss the Toyota touch screen navigation I had in my old vehicle. But the rest of the BMW is so much nicer
