Exclamation Static from the speakers

My 05 X5. So here's a new one. Yesterday, turned the car on, radio was off and got unbelievable static from the left rear door speaker. Turned the radio on and off, nothing helped. As it was late in the aft. I called BMW and they never heard of such a problem but couldn't take it in.Drove some more and then the right front started. Was all set to go to the dealer this morning, and guess what no noise last night after the care sat for about an hour. Had lots of rain yesterday, could it be a short. Anyone else ever have this?

SOunds like water was getting into the amp (driver's side below changer bracket, down loooow). When the amp gets wet weird things happen.
Heard of maybe half a dozen similar cases, in at least two it was water in there.

It's much more common than you guys would think.. It rains often here in Atlanta (or it did anyway), and I've seen countless X5's with water back in that rear compartment.

We had one client who couldn't seem to get the leak fixed, and we ended up relocating the OEM amplifier higher up in the compartment, where the CD Changer and Navigation would have been.
