About to Ebay a cd player would like confirmation

Ok short story, 01 X5 tape deck, premium sound/dsp/6 disc changer. Would like to get rid of the tape deck and get a cd player installed

This is the model i'm looking at and am told by the seller that it will fit

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5777010504

I have asked about the round / flat pin conversion and they are providing the adapter. First question is, is this correct and will this work? Second question is currently I do not have an AUX port and this says that it has one, would that add one for me? For an IPOD or Sirius? Or is it used by the CD changer. Thanks Andy

Replace tape deck...

Andy,
I'm curious to know if you bought and installed this cd player. I have a similar issue as you (tape deck and cd changer in 2001 X5 - wanting to remove tape deck and replace with cd player).

Do you happen to have the part number for this player?

Regards...../Roger

I also have a tape deck and cd changer in my 2001 X5 (with sat nav) and would like to replace my tape deck with a cd player. Did you discover how this can be acheived?

Regards, JG

There is no room for a CD Slot behind the NAV screen - even the MY2006 X5s comes with a cassette player, the ones you see on eBay are e46-specific only. The best bet would be to get an iPod and the DICE iPod integration kit:

Hi Tom. Didn't realise te cassette was standard issue in all models. I had a 330csi which had the CD player in the Nav so assumed there must be a retrofit option. I have had an IceLink for ipod for some time and it works fine. Thanks for putting me straight.

I just purchased this one on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150023796523

I had e-mailed with the seller first and took pictures of my connectors before buying to make sure it'd fit. I have a 2001 X5 3.0 with non-dsp non-premium sound. I don't have the CD changer - so I plan on having 1 AUX for Ipod and 1 AUX for Satellite. I think the price is a bit steep but at least you can be assured it will fit and you can extend the capabilities of the stock system. I have the BSW Stage 1 and soon the new Subwoofer from them so my system will finally be complete (albeit for $1,400 tho!!!)

JG42 - you can try contacting this eBay seller as he appears to know the systems well and what will work for you.

Hopefully you get some good information.

Cheers
Joe

ITS AN ALPINE 600 - 630 UNIT WITH BLITZSAFE ADAPTER MOST LIKELY. THEY WORK BUT NOT WITH DSP UNLESS THEY ARE INCLUDING FREE THE DSP CONVERSION ADAPTER. USUALLY THEY ARE MORE MONEY. I WOULD STICK WITH THE OEM UNIT. THE ADAPTER IS BUILT IN AND ITS A QUIETER UNIT.
