BSW Stage 1 Kit installed - Happy Camper

So I dedicated yesterday to the Stage 1 speaker install and can say I'm stoked with the results. Clear instructions, good pictures, details on how to undo all the blind fasteners and connections. I took 2 hours to do the first door & dash mid, but my speed increased after that and I spent 6 hours total including garage clean up and a car washing. Half way thru the install I played some Steely Dan, shifting left (BSW) and right (stock) and the difference was obvious. My MB Quart midbass/Rainbow tweeter combo has much better clarity and high end than the stock system, and can play louder before distorting. The stock speakers sound muddy, with terrible midrange.

BSW instructions called for a glue gun, and I begrudgingly dropped the $10. I'd never used one in a car audio install before. But it quickly became indespensible for many uses. I affixed drivers into their housings, repaired door panel anchors that popped off during the job, battened down wire leads with glue blobs to ward off future rattles- hot glue rocks.

If there's a down side to the system, I'd say there's a bit less bass. What the new drivers make, however, is much more accurate than the stock drivers' low end. Four 6-1/2" (or oversize 6-3/4") midbasses would be nice- but I'm sure they don't fit the stock housings and would require a lot more custom work and time. Overall, I'm very happy. Great sound for the price, excellent instructions made it a straightforward install. Thanks BSW!
