Powering a PS2

I've searched the forums and found that many have installed PS2's but noone is saying how they are powered.

I know I can use the converter box that plugs into the cigarette lighter but I was hoping there is another cleaner way of doing this that will wire into the electrical system itself.

Can someone point me in the right direction for powering a PS2 other than the cigarette lighter converters?

Thanks!
