DICE Text display

Hi and Merry Xmas to all.
I have just returned home from work (late on 23rd Dec). I have been out and about in my X5 so that I can play with the iPod DICE integration unit I fitted myself.
I am haveing a few problems with it which I hope can be easily diagnosed. I keep loosing the text display. This is also accompanied by strange operation of the steering wheel buttons. The music always plays but when the text dissappears I can only advance a track or fast forward it. If I reboot the iPod it does not help, if I switch off the radio and restart - no effect, stop the engine and restart - no effect. If I leave the car for a longer period it also did not seem to help. The text seems to return for no discernable reason.
I have a 5G Video iPod 80gb, latest firmware, Nav, Bluetooth, no DSP. Any ideas?

This looks like my problems after installation of DICEkit. I found this solution in another thread. Worked fine for me:

Remove the 3 radiofuses, one in the glovecompartment and two in the rear fuse panel, disconnect DICEbox connections and disconnect Ipod,
reboot Ipod while disconnected. Wait 10 minutes and connect it all again.
Voila!

Here's how you would select text on a NAV-enabled vehicle:

1. Pres CD6
2. Move to TRACK6
3. Move back to CD1

if you don't move back to CD1, you will just be positioning text to different locations.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

Text

Hi Tom,
Tried CD6 etc with no luck. Text comes back but I can't pin down the reason. When I loose the text, the only thing I can do is fast forwards or reverse the track. Selecting any other CD has no effect. At present the text is back so I will try to audit what happens next time it goes. It could have something to do with when I remove the iPod and reconnect it before I start off. It seems to happen most often when the unit does not initialise (no INIT displayed). Could also be some kind of "buffer over run?" BTW, DICE is still better than the new OEM integration from BMW.

Can you read me the numbers from the back of the module beneath the bar code?

With NAV, you should use the DISC6/TRACK6 for large font.
