Replaced stock speakers in front

Can you run aftermarket speakers off of the factory amp?

Yes, I am doing that right now. I plan to add an amp at some point. I think it will sound better with an aftermarket amp.

im asking because they say that it will sound like shit with the factory amp. Is it better than stock?

I felt that the stock speakers were too sloppy. I have only replaced the front speakers (kept stock dash mid), but the front is a lot tighter. The tweeters are too bright, but this may be a result of running a 4 ohm tweeter vs. the stock 8 ohm.
