Wanting to replace OEM radio for a After Market Nav System: any suggestions?

I have a 2004 3.0 X5, and have the OEM radio/cd only and want to rip those out and put in a new after market system (radio/navigation/CD/dvd, etc.) that will make the system "nicer"... something that functions well (quick scrolling, menu, etc.)...

any system suggestions??? can i add a sub in the back without decreasing space?

everybody will probably recommend the pioneer avic (i think that's what it's called). you can put a subwoofer in behind the panel in the trunk area on the right side (where the fuses are).

that placement in the center consol was ugly.... i guess it's all the space left and right of it.. hmm.. i'll have to think twice..
