Third Dice, Still No Luck

This is getting to be annoying...

I'm now on my third Dice, but there are still problems.

I think I can live with the alternator whine and clicking sounds from the iPod, but the MID display in the guage cluster is problematic.

It starts scrolling from the center of the display instead of the the end. When I first installed it, it was like this. Then I unplugged the rear connection and the Dice and the display worked normally. But when I started my car this morning, it was back to scrolling from the center of the MID.

Tom, do you think it may be the cable that connects the rear outlets to the Dice? I have it running throughout the rear seat under-bench, and the wire isn't tangled up.

I still have the second one in my possession. I want to see if it's the car, or the module...I hope it isn't that car...hopefully it's the wire

I want to thank Tom G. and Dension for all the outstanding support

Dension is not around any longer in the states - you might mean DICE

Give me a call from your X5 and we can run down some troubleshooting in real time.

hmmm...more problems are occuring for sometime now.

the plug for the dock connection for the ipod isn't working very well...a little twitch and one side of the sound goes off

it does that thing of starting with the second song of the playlist

* * keeps appearing sometimes when switching songs

sometimes when the song is over, the previous song's info is still on the display

and sometimes the DICE keeps my ipod on "Click OK to disconnect" and i can't control the ipod. clicking the OK doesn't yield anything either

although everything else is working fine

Check to make sure the connections are secure and no tension is present. Also, is there any type of case on the iPod preventing the docking cable from making a secure connection?

i have a case, but i adjusted it so it's not messing with the connection...the plug is loose i guess

all the connections are secure. i have the wire running along the side of the rear cargo floor to spreading the excess wires across the rear seat bench and running along the side of the center console to underneath the front passenger seat

Back to basics. Was the battery disconnected (both cables) when the new module was installed? If not - this needs to be done.

If you feel the module is defective - I would like to bench test the module myself to see where the problem lies. Please contact me via [email protected] to make arrangements.
