Got rid of the whine by taking a short length 16-guage speaker and ran it from the chassis of the Sirius receiver to an unpainted screw near the CD Changer. (I'm just doing dynamic testing right now to see if it's feasable to move forward.)

So NOW my question is ... is there anyone with an 03 or higher X5 with a Business CD, who doesn't care about Sirius or other things like that, who would want to swap Units with me? I'd pay for shipping and all that, you've just have to remove the unit.

Anyone? Anyone?

Ok, What do y'all think the chances are that an Alpine model with a build date of Nov 02 (47/02), SW:50, and HW:45 has to work?

Since you are Business CD equipped, you should be ok.

That's what I mean ... those were the specs for the Business CD Head Unit I was eyeing up.

Tom, I really appreciate the help you've given -- and continue to give -- me even though I told you I probably wasn't buying the CD unit from you.

At the very least, I will be buying my Black Out Grills from you since I see you have them for the 01!

That's fine - the info is here for others as well.

Let me know when you are ready for the grilles, they are in stock and ready to ship!

Thanks again. So, just to clarify, the late production date is what I'm looking for and November of 2002 is spot on?

Yes, 9/02+ for Business CD or a SV of 50 or higher.
