Yep. I'm one of the beta testers, along with many others that also take part in this forum. Its an excellent integration, especially if you have Navigation. Whether you choose to use the ipod, the alpine cd changer, DAB (digital radio in the UK), or all of them, intravention allows you to see all the track information on the NAV display along with extensive search capabilities.
You can apply to get onto the beta testing program by sending a email via the website. |

Does anyone actually have one?
This looks like vapourware. Going by the web site it has been in development for over eight months and still not made it to market. So what does that tell you? |

It's very real. See apw2607 posts above (and others as well).

Having prototype/alpha units is very different to going into volume production. My point was this does not seem to be a large company, so assuming they have engineering resources and some financial backing I would have expected production units by now. Their web site has also not been updated in a very long time.
All of that said it looks like a really cool product (depending on cost) |

Yes its very real. Its still in beta because the chap that runs intravention is not prepared to release the product until it has being full tested and verified on a whole range of vehicles. So ... no ever ending promises and comittments ... that we've all heard before. If you want to get involved, no problem ... just simply join the beta testing program.
The hardware design has being locked down for a long time now, its just the firmware in the device to support the many, many different vehicle configurations. Displaying information on the NAV display is a non-trivial exercise based on the way that BMW specified the system. Just to give you some idea .... you might think that the BM53 and BM54 radios behave similarly with regards to the way they interact with the NAV computer and display. Not so! We see all sorts of differences. Add Sirius Radio into the mix ... different model years, and vehicles .... oh the joy. For the latest info, please read this posting in the intravention public forum area http://www.intravention.co.uk/forum/...hp?topic=400.0 |
