I want to add a stealthbox made by jl audio and an amp to dirve the sub (either a JL or Rockford amp) H:2.5" W: 7.5" L: 11". I'm looking for a place to install the amp where it is hidden. I have a Nav & CD changer. I don't want to get rid of the spare tire. Need some advice on where it could be hidden. Thank you.

Welcome to xoutpost.com. FYI you posted this in the wrong forum. It should be in the e53 forum or electronic forum. No big deal tho. Anyways if you have a NON-DSP stereo. You might be able to install it in the left compartment in the cargo area. Not were the CD changer is but if you look down there should be a large hole that pretty deep. I installed my Sub amp in there and its totally hidden. I can even adjust the gain since the adjusters are facing up. BTW the mods will move the post to the right forum. Enjoy this site, Rob

check out my photos in the member gallery. My install shop built a custom tray above the spare tire and mounted both of my amps there so I lost nothing. Since the amps are sandwiched between the floor tray and wheel they also added a fan in there next the amps to keep them cool.

The MTX TC3001 is just the right size to fit in the equipment rack - and it has plenty of power for the stealthbox. Check out this thread: http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...installed.html |

ricemanjoe, i have the same concern about the amp.
I installed the stealth sub yesterday, and i'm still looking for a space to install the amp. Silver_5, are you talking about the space front of the factory amp? i have a Bluetooth box there... or are you talking about something different? Is anyone having a customized tray for the Alpine amp. comming with the BSW stealth sub?

Sorry for posting in the wrong site, but I'm learning as I go.
I want to install an amp that pushes 400w-500w of power just in case I want to upgrade my system. I'll need a space a little bigger than the space below the cd changer. ljnlaw, do you have a dollar amount on how much your shop charges for the custom floor tray? Thanks everyone for the advice. |

I think this custom tray only fits if you have the pull-out floor option. I ended up building an amp rack on top of the trunk floor.
