Hooking Sub Amp to Factory Stereo

I have read through the article on tapping into the rear speakers to get high level input for installing an aftermarket sub amp.

The article lists the wires to connect to for DSP and for non-DSP systems.

My 00 X5 has Navigation but no DSP. It has a factory amp in the back left with 1 plug with many wires on it. The plug does not look like the non-dsp plug in the article here on x5world. Does someone know which wires I use on that plug -- see attached picture.

I cannot really see from the pic of the amp connector. It looks like a 12pins to me but I would need a pic of the harness connector to count how many pins you have. How many wires can you count?

I realized that I have 42 pin connector listed in the article. Both the grey and black connector have to be released from the main connector that hooks to the amplifier.

I got it hooked up and it works great -- the wife is happy with her 'bumpin' stereo. Thanks for the help. Gotta love xoutpost.com

Glad you got everything working. If you need anything else let me know. We have step by step color install instructions to help guide you along the way for subwoofer installs with the factory head/amp. If anyone else needs the document please let me know
