Question Installing Ice Link in 2005 X3

I'm the proud new owner of a 2005 X3. I read in an article posted on this website that you can access the CD Changer cable for the X3 under the armrest. I removed the center cupholder by lifting it, and there do seem to be cables in there. Is one of the those the one that I'm after, and does this mean that I do not have to remove the center console to install the Ice Link IPod adapter in my X3?

I would much rather not have to embark on something as daunting as removing the center console; I'd leave that to a Denison installer. However, wiring under the armrest seems pretty straight forward.

I do not have a CD Changer. I'm not interested in mounting the IPod externally; all I want to do is install the IPod in the arm rest, velcro'd to the inside.

I would appreciate any help or guidance.

This is all I could find for now (getting ready for bed...getting old ). Dension does not have any specific guides for the X3 yet, but this install article looks pretty straightforward. The 2 plugs you need will be a 6 pin plug and a 3 pin also. They usually are tucked in with the main wiring bundle, so you might have to dig a bit. That's how my X5 was anyway.

You might try searching x3world.com for more info regarding console removal (if it has to be done).
