XM in X5?

Greetings !
Today my wife and I adopted a 2006 CPO X5 from Prestige Motors in Ramsey, NJ. Overall exellent experience - couple of awkward moments, but all and all, we left pleased.

We have been quite satisfied with XM stations we were enjoying in my Lexus that we traded in, even though the set up was a bit unpolished at least to my likings. We had the radio unit in the console, got power from the rear console unit cigarette lighter, and merely fished the antenna to the roof, and because the modulation sound was so bad, I eventually fit it with a cassette adapter,

Can anyone provide alternatives... I'd consider swithing to Sirius if that resolves the problem..Would also like to an outlet available for ipod

Goodness smiles on those who help others (like me)

Welcome to the board!!!

There are a few solutions to your question, ranging from FM option to the fully integrated into your car's electronics - just look around the board... Some solutions may or may not work in your car but folks here are very nice and friendly...

Again, welcome onboard!!!

Pioneer XM Inno sent to Dice Aux Input

I use a Dice iPod/HD setup: XM (Pioneer Inno) sent to the Aux input of the Dice. Works great. Do a search on this or just contact Tom at European Auto Supply (sponsor links at the bottom right of the main page)

You can switch to Sirius w/ steering controls (verify with Tom at EAS) but it will cost you! Check out what you need at EAS's website. I think it runs over $1000 not including installation.

Hi Tom:

No business CD. Only the cassette player behind the Nav.

Frankly, I dont want to go the Inno route.

Would your item #274 work (to go Sirius) or any other way to do XM?

Thanks
ED

XM Direct is 100% compatible with your setup, here's the kit you need:

XM Direct Satellite Radio Package for BMW & Mini
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=267

This is a truly integrated system with text display, factory presets and steering wheel/radio controls.

Tom: is the XM item #267 compatible with BMW Nav? Looks like edco has Nav.
