Replacing DSP 6.5" Subs

A friend of mine has a pair of old Focal 7V4211 DB speakers. The specs on these speakers say they are 7" speakers, but the housing for them is a little over 7" in some areas. These are dual voice coil, so I think if I just mod the housing, everything will work.

I am just wondering if anyone has exchanged the subs back there, without doing anything else? I know a 10" with an amp would be better, but I figured I would give these a shot if all I have to pay for is shipping.

Thanks for your help.

You could try it but I don't know how it will turn out. Are you planning on powering them with an amp or the stock amp?

I am about 5 minutes from posting up a sale on the X5 Subwoofer System here

Since these speakers would only be a used for a trial period, I would just power them with the stock amp. Some day I will upgrade to an 8" or 10", but I am just curious of how it would sound. The 6.5" subs back there don't do that much, and I am just curious if there were better speakers back there, would it make a difference. Probably not much, just looking for others experiences.

Thanks

Test them out

We did not have any results from testing a couple pieces off the stock amp
