Rear door speaker replacement

Replacing the speakers in my X with BSW stage 1 upgrade. Front went fine; sounds bitchen! Having some issues with the rear. My car has the rear sunshades and I understand the vertical shade must be removed to allow removal of the door panel. The instructions from BSW suggest placing a small screwdriver in a notch at the top and lifting upward to release the metal latch, numerous posts on this site suggest pressing down; so far no luck.
If anyone has hands on experience removing this sunshade, I would appreciate any tips of tricks you may have. The last thing I want to do is jack up a $60.00 part.
As always, thanks in advance!
Don

Hmmmm

I did this install with Jason my install tech once here in the bay. I cannot quite remember the "easiest" way to remove the sunshade. Once he gets here in the office I will confirm with him and report back!

Glad the front is in and "bitchen"!

Complete install instructions are available from the BSW website. Photos are included. I have not tried the rear panels yet, but it looks pretty straight forward.

Hey Bill Valley,

Thanks for the reply. I have the instructions from BSW, and you are right, it looks like a no brainer. And get this; I had the X in for service this week, and asked the dealer (who I am pretty tight with) if they would kindly pop them off for me. They said they tried and could not get them to release. They didn't want to be responsible if they broke one. They also suggested I check with a car stereo shop who might have more experience with their removal. What's up with that!
