▀▄ eas | DICE SILVERLINE - An open letter to our valued customers....

Forum members,

Last week some of you may have witnessed our thread regarding our announcement of the new DICE SILVERLINE iPod integration kits were available for release. Since the core part of our business is BMW & iPod integration – this was a major announcement in which we were proud to be the first to announce.

Unfortunately, this was not the case as we were immediately accused from a competing vendor of being “liars”, selling “beta”, “prototype” and “bug ridden” product to our valued customers.

European Auto Source (eas) nor DICE Electronics would never allow this to happen.

Not only were the comments not true, the actions and claims made against us were highly unethical and disappointing. We place a lot of time in effort to make sure every single one of our customers are satisfied, so such claims are taken very seriously.

The DICE SILVERLINE kits were released last week in bug-free form for Business CD users with newest code and have received nothing but praise.

Navigation-specific orders were not yet released, with coding is being cleaned up, double-checked, shipping within the next couple of days. Through weeks of testing, eas nor DICE Electronics have not been able to recreate any errors or bug issues on our test bench, personal vehicles or numerous other BMWs that have already received the SILVERLINE iPod kits installed at our facility.

Below is a prepared statement from DICE Electronics:

For Public Release
Subject: "DICE Silverline" product line for BMW

DICE Electronics, Inc., manufacturer of the "DICE Silverline" product line, considering the heavy attention the product line got on forums, found it necessary to make an official statement.

DICE Electronics, Inc. never knowingly ships products that are not market-ready. Products known to have bugs are not released to the market until the necessary improvements and/or corrections have been made. Products known to need improvement and already sold to the public are pulled back from the market and customer receives an improved product back.

A few respected dealers of the DICE product line are asked to participate in beta testing the units making sure that the product is ready to be released to the market. The feedback from these dealers is crucial to DICE Electronics, Inc., and is very much appreciated.

Release of the "DICE Silverline" product line has been postponed due to some newly discovered bugs with the BMW Navigation headunits. Errors reported on other headunits could not be replicated by the engineers of DICE Electronics, Inc., therefore the "DICE Silverline" products that have shipped for non-navigation headunits are considered to be final. Customers experiencing any technical issues should contact DICE technical support.

Official release date of the "DICE Silverline" product line is set to January 18, 2008.

DICE Electronics, Inc. finds it unfortunate that the early release of its new product line has led to misunderstandings and would like to apologize to its valued customers for any confusion that may have been caused.

Furthermore, eas will be the first to receive the next DICE SILVERLINE shipment, and will have plenty of kits in stock for those that have preordered or are waiting for a kit. This will also apply to those that have ordered upgraded modules. As stated in the past, we will support the DICE kits 100%, (whether or not purchased from us) and will never take the action that was brought upon us in order to gain sales.

We hope we can put this ugly incident behind us and would like to deeply thank those that have supported us in the past and continue to do so.

Thanks for listening.
