Project X Underway. Need some guidence

Hi,
I am about to start Project X which includes the following:
1) Invision DVD Headrest Rev IIG
2) Invision TV Tuner (1 composite input for additional video source like ipod video, ps2, digital tv tuner...etc)
3) NavTool Video Module with 2 video inputs
4) Dice BMW Ipod Kit (Non-Silverline, so I can have ipod clickwheel access to activate ipod movies)
5) Dice Video Cradle (to watch ipod movies on nav screen)
6) More-Eyes CCD Nightvision Backup Camera
I have a 2004 BMW X5 with Navigation and CD Changer.
Here are some questions I have.
1) Where can I tap 12v switched power for the NavTool video module?
2) Where can I tap 12v switched power in center console for Invision Headrest DVD? I read that the cig lighter are constant in
bmw x5.
3) Where can I tap 12v switched power for the backup camera?
4) I see alot of people using a relay for the backup camera. The NavTool video module has 2 video inputs. Video1 is for any
video source, but video2 is dedicated to a backup camera and has 2 wires that trigger it when the car is put in reverse.
NavTool states that their video module has a video chip instead of a relay built in so I didnt know if I still needed it.
Here is the site to the product: http://www.tvandnav.com/index.asp?Pa...PROD&ProdID=40
This will be my first attempt so please be detailed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as well as any suggestions you may have.
I will try to take some pictures of my progress as well as update this post or create a new post after the install.
I am looking forward to any help I can get.

One last thing, since the invision dvd headrests will have a tv tuner with an additional input, will it be possible to output what's playing on my navigation into the headrests so that we all watch the same movies from the ipod video?
I prefer to connect the ipod video to the main navigation thru navtool video module and then output it to the headrest.
How can this be accomplished?

Also, how the heck do you remove the 3 pin behind the cd changer? I have been trying, but the wire is so short I cant get all the way behind there. The plug doesnt seem to want to come out. Is there a certain way to remove it?

Thanks again,
Lc

Hi LeMans,
Yes, I have gone through most of the diy articles on the mainpage as well as many other threads from users on x5world. I have gotten some good advice and help so far from zerochief only. Alot of the posts from some of the users were abit confusing, but an article from powers1(http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...rse+light+wire) was very helpful regarding the wires to use for the backup cam , brown (-) and yellow/white(+).

Regards,
lc

Update: I was able to install the Invision Rev IIG Headrest today. It wasn't too hard. Took about 2hrs. I located the Invision TV Tuner module under the drivers seat. I didn't find any room in the center console.

btw, you can click on the img to expand it. I didnt want to post such big pictures. It slows the loading of this thread.

I still dont know where to hardwire this to. I can't find a 12v switched power anywhere.

Im still waiting on anyone who knows where I can find 12v switched power in center console, by trunk and/or under stearing wheel.

Thanks,
lc

Update: NavTool and Dice Ipod Kit Install

NavTool Plug and Play Harness

NavTool Wire Harness connected to the back of the DVD Navigation

Here are the 2 plugs (3pin/6pin) behind the cd changer.
The 3pin was very hard to remove. I think I cracked it.
Is this replacable? I think its for powering the cd changer.

Is this the phone harness or AMP/DSP harness? The black plug says AMP. But I read that there is a phone harness back here so I connected a t-tap to the purple/white wire (12v switched power) on this harness.

I ran the ground wires and the negative(-) wire to this bolt (I hope this is ground)

Does anyone know what this is (RED text)? I thought it might be the ground harness. There were alot of brown wires connected to it. It's also connected to a bolt. Thats why I connected my ground wires to it (YELLOW text).

NavTool installed. The black/red wires on top is a switch that I will be running to the front of the car in the ashtray. The switch is so that I can activate the videos on the nav screen.

Dice Ipod Cable pulled through the side of the back seat.

More to come.

Update: Ashtrap Mod
I needed to put the switch in the front to turn on and off the video on my NavTool Video module so I put it in the ash tray where the round cig thingy to put out cigs use to be. This was NOT my original idea. I saw a post on x5world, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Anyway, here is how I did it. I used a dremel round sander bit to make the round opening larger. Its 3/4 inch wide. I then used a small file to file the notch. I purchased a rocker switch on ebay for $4.50 each. I bought 2, just incase. I sodered a red and a black wire to the poles and shrink wrapped the black tubing to it. Then I ran the 9ft of wire I allocated to the switch and ran the wires along the side (under trim pieces) using the Dice IPOD kit install method. While I was at it, I ran the Invision TV Tuner antenna cable AND the Dice IPOD wire harness at the same time. Anyway, here are the pictures.

Im STILL waiting for a location to wire the Invision Headrest to.
I cant find a 12v switched power in the center console. No one knows?
