Whistle BSW Subwoofer Loud?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 2002 4.4 with premium sound and wanted some opinions on the BSW subwoofer. I like this system because it tucks away and doesnt take away trunk space, but is it loud? A couple buddies have JL 12 inch W6's and I think those are pretty loud, but the BSW Sub's are only 8 inches... Will this get anywere near the deep bass a 12inch W6 puts out? I primarily listen to Rap/R&B and like to bump. Thanks!

Also... would a woofer fit where the spare tire is?

I don't think it will be enough for you if you like the 12" W6.

Cool OK Thumper!

I snuck a 10" in that space and it thumps pretty good! Still might not be enough for your taste?

What if I snuck a 10 inch where you put yours, and then another in the spare tire spot. Do you think that would get close to a W6 or larger sub? thanks

Cool

Unless you are using an aftermarket head unit and amp(s) for the door speakers, a high powered beast sub system would just be too much for the stock HU. Just My opinion The medium powered sub systems like BSW's or the JL Adio Stealth box match the OEM HU very well.

So I'm in the process of buying an X5 right now, one of the ones I am looking at has the "business cd player" and the other a navi. If I got a 12inch W6 or W7 and a new amp I would need a new headunit? thanks.

Nothing at all to do with the head unit in all honesty. You can add subs to any system if using a seperate amp

you need an amp separate from the headunit to run any good subwoofer. simplest way would be to get an amp with speaker level inputs that way you can tap into one of the speakers and hook up your subwoofer that way. a 10" sub will never have the same rumble it's 12" counterpart will have. and i don't think you'll be able to put a W6, and definitely not the W7, in the side compartment without a custom built enclosure. i wouldn't put a 10" in the side compartment and one in the spare tire well as you might get some cancellation of the soundwaves since your bass will be coming from 2 different locations. personally, for hip hop/rap, i prefer 15" woofers as they definitely will shake rattle and roll your car, but they take up a lot of room.

Okay thanks for the help. I'll just prob. have a box made and just stick it in the back instead of dealing with trying to fit it in the small compartments.
