audio input
Today I decide to play a bit with the audio coming out of the back of the CD Changer.
As some of us know you can`t get audio in with the AUX In on radio module 2002 or lower, my cd changer does not use the coax cable on the back, it uses 3 cable for the audio signal( low level signal ) . I managed to input signal from my Ipod to the radio using the plug that plugs on the back of the cd changer…. Later I will have some pictures and more info as far as what each wire is for and how I found out. |

Basically what you're doing is inserting analog audio onto the output of the changer.
1) Do you have any noises (engine running or not)? 2) Do you hear the iPod over the CD playing? 3) A plug-and-play version of this is the Soundgate DockBMWv2. It switches an aux source in place of the changer. I tried one in a 2005 X5 and it was noisy and unacceptable to me (for sound quality). I expect you'd probably have some noises too? |

I haven't used it either. I opted instead to install a radio module from a 2003 in order to get AUX input.
