X5 2003 Radio dosen't work

Hi all

I seen a few postings on the issue of radio not working on X5's. My radio is a combined Sat Nav Television CD and Radio. For a while the sound had been coming and going then all sound on the back speakers went and then the sound on the front left speaker the final front right speaker gave up then and I am left with nothing.

I tried removing fuses as suggested and disconnected wiring under CD changer in cargo area. Is there a unit under spare wheel (maybe amp) I should disconnect and reconnect?

If my radio is indeed gone can I get it repaired?
Is it the unit behind the screen in passanger compartment is broken or is it a unit in th cargo hold eg under spare tyre?

I would appreciate any help on this

Thanks

Paul

I've had my radio module unit out several times now trying to locate a fault with poor reception. Found water has shorted out the unit which is under the spare tire in the boot. Easy enough to remove...

Hi
How did you repair the unit, did you just visually locate a short or did you take to a repair technician or did you buy a new unit?

Thanks
