DVD Image on the Front Monitor !!!! HELP

Hi again colleagues:

Please, I need a detailed instructions (steps, photos, etc) on how to make a DVD installation that allows that the same image that appears on the headrest monitors ALSO appears in the front monitor.
The point is that my BMW dealer here in Venezuela told me that this is not possible, and I told them that in the web page there are hundred of cases where the people get the image in the front monitor. Also I want that the DVD audio can be outputted by the Hi Fi. DSP System

So, they told me that BMW, by security reasons does not allow this, but they can make the installation if I refer to them the right steps to do this (funny right??).

Also, I want to know if the image in the front panel is displayed all the time during the X5 is moving, or it is also displayed when the X5 is stopped.

My X5 is August Production and it will arrive this month to my country. My X5 has the TV Option but NO NAV System because in Latin America BMW do not deliver NavSystem because there isnt. But I have all the other options, Bluetooth, TV, etc. etc.

I want to install the original BMW monitors and DVD from the dealer but they required som help on how to get the image on the front panel. also I want to know how to get the sound in the Stereo System.

Thanks by any help on wiring, photos, instructions, manuals. etc etc.

Thanks for the link.

Just another questions:

If I want to have the option of see video in motion in my front panel, it is mandatory to buy this TVonNav module. Because the dealer comments to me that I will see the TV image in the front panel but not in motion.

The questions is, I need to buy a new system, module or replace something on my original X5. The point is that I do not undertand this, because when I ordered my X5 I ask for TV option and I pay 1000 $ for this option, so what you are trying to tell me is that I need to buy something else. ???

It is not possible the wiring the original X5 with the original BMW monitors and DVD in such a way to accomplished what I want: image on the front and read panels, and music via HiFi system.

Thanks a lot,

from what i've read about this process, if u already have the TV tuner and NAV equipment, all u need is the $199 module. the experts here can probably give u more details, but from what u describe, all u should need is the $199 module.

w/o this module, the dealer is right. when in motion, u will not have display on the NAV screen. in ur current setup, w/o purchasing this module, u can not have video in motion. it is the module that allows this.

experts, back me up on this or please correct me if i'm wrong.

Ok, I will buy the module, but... this is enough to have the DVD image from the rear monitor also in the front monitor or it is neccesary to buy another module to do this.

The point is that I want to install the BMW original headrest monitors and the DVD unit direct front the dealer, so I need to know if I must buy another unit to have the rear image in the front and also the DVD audio in the stereo system.

Regards.

Sorry for the questions. But I want to be completetly sure That what I need to buy because I am not actually in the US and I will go to the US the next week, so I will buy all what is neccesary.

Thanks a lot..

Ok got it. But still a doubt. Jans talk something about the BMW Aux Input. Do I really need this part if I want to have the DVD audio outputted via the Stereo Hi Fi DSP system.???

If so, Where I can but this ?

Finally, I am understanding that I need to buy the TvOnNav module which is 199$, and also a BMW Aux Input right ???

I would appreciate your help again.

from reading Janix's write-up, i think he only installed the AUX input; so that, he could get true stereo sound while playing DVD's. according to the article, the TV tuner outputs in Mono, not stereo; therefore, if i am reading Janix's write-up correctly, to get stereo output, u would need the AUX input. Janix (jmh) is a member here. hopefully, he'll pop in and shed some more light on this topic.
