Question CD DISC CHANGER

i have a cd changer that is part #65.12-6 946 989 that is supposed to play mp3 discs does anybody know if this player can handle mp3s or is there a special way of writing the discs ordinary cds play fine when i put in a mp3 disc all i get is a hissing noise
any ideas please

Assuming this is an E53 (old style X5) then what's the manufacture date on the back of the Changer? There should be a Month and Year. If it's September 2005 or later then it can play MP3's, if earlier then it can't.
