Best way to have integrated XM and HD radio?

Hello, I just got an 08 X3.. The SUV is great but it needs XM and HD to be "perfect".. Now I have a BSW Kit (the one that uses a Blitzsafe) from a friend who got rid of their 07 Z4.. Both of these cars have the same radio and nither have Navigation. SOOO how do I add HD radio to the mix? The 08's are prewired for HD right? so I just need the part number.. Can I run XM and HD? I know XM replaces Sirius so does HD run seporate?

Thanks for the feedback.
Josh

Moved this to Electronics forum where you will get better response.

Tom from EAS should be able to help you.

You will probably need the XM Direct SR package

I already have the XM kit and it works.. I'm asking what the part# is for the HD Radio module and if you can have both (Sat Radio & HD Radio)..

Thanks for moving the question to the right area though :-).. I'll ping Tom and see what he suggests.

What specific XM kit are you already using?

The XM Direct kit w/ SLD01 Blitzsafe adapter has a passthrough cable for the DICE HD kit so the best of both worlds can be utilized.

Its what ever I got from BSWs when the kit was ordered in June.. Also will the Dice HD use the cars pre-wired antenna? It would seem odd to have to install a second antenna when one is already there :-P

You should have the correct adapter, which has a 3-pin and 6-pin leaving the Blitzsafe box - these will plug into the HD DICE's harness.

We usually use the Stealth Antenna Adapter for the HD DICE installs - this will eliminate the need to an additional antenna. I would recommend using the integrated antenna you already have for your XM.

If you would like a detailed explanation - feel free to give me a call on Monday morning.
