In order to get video to your nav screen, you'll need a video module or an oem tv tuner. I assume that you dont have a tv tuner, so you just need a video module. I went with the NavTool. It wasnt very expensive and had 2 video inputs including backup cam trigger. There are also others. A very popular one is the Dietz 1260 from EAS. Ask for Tom, he can help you.
As for the music/sound part, youll need a fm modulator OR a direct connect using the Dice kit. Dice silverline is very nice, but I read that if you want to queue up movies, you cant do it with the dice silverline since it locks up clickwheel operations. Thats why I went with the older dice i-bmw-t kit. Im not sure if its available anymore.

Anyway, to watch movies with the NavTool video module, you just flick a switch and then you can watch movies on your nav screen. There is no controlling it from your nav/radio. With the dietz 1260, i think you can activate video by clicking and holding the clock button for 5 sec.

One last thing, im not sure if the old dice i-bmw-t kit will work with 1stgen iphones. I have the 5th gen ipod (non osx ipod). I thought I read somewhere that old dice didnt support it.

Anyway, good luck and be sure to help others when asked.
Post some pics if you do decide to start your project.
regards,
lc
