Question IceLink Plus install in 04 X5 with DSP

Hi:
I have an IceLink Plus which I had in my 03 525i, no DSP. I installed that myself with no problems with text display on the MID.

I now have a 2004 X5 with DSP. I need some information on installing in this vehicle. From what I have read on this forum I do not need the DSP converter. My car does not have the cd changer in the back. SO, are the wires the same that were in the 525i? There just seems to be an awful lot of wiring back there in the X5.

Any information is appreciated.

Yes, the wiring connectors are the same. You will be looking for a 3 pin and 6-pin connector that should be bundled together. The IceLink Plus just hooks right up to those connections.

You should not need the DSP adaptor.

Also check the amplifer to see if a coaxial cable is installed - this is the DSP cable. Most MY2003+ models did not come with "Digital" DSP, but there are a few.
