Is there an amp in a non-nav non-dsp 2004 x5?

Hi,

I am getting ready to purchase my aftermarket head unit and would like to find out if there is an amp in a 2004 x5 with no dsp or nav.

I read here that the speaker cables are directly routed to the radio. Is it sufficient to replace the MID with the aftermarket head unit and connect the wires there? The aftermarket head unit will generate speaker level output.

I see that scosche has a wire harness available for X5. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks
