JL Audio did confirm that the bottom bracket was not right. It turns out that the screws are the right length but the bracket holes were supposed to be drilled down (inset). They will be sending me a new one.

It turns out that I just needed to wedge the box in a little harder to get the screws to align. What a tight fit! Well the woofer is all installed now. Next I need to mount the amp and wire it all up.

I really don't want to bother with midbass speakers that put out very little bass.
I recommend you replace all speakers. The stage 1 setup sounds great.

Thanks for the kind words zero.

OP,

Install looks good so far! Let me know if you have any questions about the drivers. We can upgrade speaker pairs as well.

I put it on the CD rack side. My rack is completely empty. I don't have a factory CD changer or anything else, well, minus the BMW Assist antenna.

As far as the rest of the speakers go, the plan is to replace the tweeters and midranges with BSW components. I am still on the fence in regards to the midbass. Either way, I am looking forward to a better sounding system.

That is unexpected and great news! I prefer to get all my speakers from you guys as I feel it is better to get speakers that are designed to work together. Plus I like the fact that they are plug and play. I'll keep checking back for that Stage 2 amp also.
