Alarm keeps going off

I have a 03 BMW X5 3.0 and my alarm goes off when no one is around it. Sometimes I think it maybe the wind that's setting it off, but I am not sure. Can anyone give me some advise on the BMW alarms. Do they have some type of sensitivity setting on them.

mostly cause by faulty switch in the hood comparment. disconnect the switch for 10min. and plug it back in if it dont help, you need to replace that or keep it unplug.

So with it unplugged, does that cause any other issues. I have it unplugged right now. I guess I could go to BMW and get another switch. I am sure changing it can not be that hard.

Usually the first item to go is the hood switch for some reason. Maybe it is more exposed to the elements. Make sure the hood is adjusted properly as well because if not and the wind blows it could rattle the hood just enough to set it off.

Also does your car have an interior movement sensor? Sometimes those have been known to fail and when they do it thinks something is on the inside
