Been wonder about this myself
Hey Humanshield-
I totally understand what you're trying to do: install a wired FM modulator between the radio antenna and the radio receiver and (probably) run the input line up to the center console where you can plug in an iPod, XM receiver or any other audio device. If you're anything like me you have half a dozen audio sources that might change on any given trip. I have the 2001 3.0 X5 w/ Navigation and I believe your '03 does as well, correct? Our radio modules are diagrammed here: http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-128.html And I believe that they are located in the rear left under the Nav and CD changer components. I DON'T know yet if the FM antenna connector is the same as the type used in domestic vehicles. |

was just replying to this thread and realized that everyone had chimed in. use an AUX input adapter and connect it to the radio wire harness directly in the back and then you won't have to run an audio cable to the front... |
