That's a security code to activate the fuel cut off / alarm function for when you leave the car.

Without seeing a picture it's hard to know just what you are talking about. So either snap a picture and post it, or read the manual... you decide which is less work!

Hi Tom,

I have business CD, non-nav, non-DSP. Instead of the above, can I use this?

eas - 714.369.8524 | iPod 3.5mm to Dock Connector Cable

If not, why not? I want to be able to charge the iPod and get better sound than through stereo jack . . .

Thanks,

That will give you your audio signal, but will not provide charging capabilities.

Thanks for the reply. What would I need to charge it? And I see the connector needs to connect to an aux source, so could you recommend one of those please?

Edited: think I get it now . . .

I buy this

eas - 714.369.8524 | Auxiliary Audio Input - e39/X3/X5 Business CD

and if I want to have the dock connector, I purchase this and plug it into the jack from the thing I bought above!

eas - 714.369.8524 | iPod 3.5mm to Dock Connector Cable

Is that correct?
