recommendations for dvd changer

Hey guys,

I know a few of you have gone through this already, but I'm about to install LCD headrests in the X5 (after having to buy brand new ones - long story). Anyway, I'd like to have a changer (i think) that I can put a few of the kids' dvds in and I'm looking for recommendations of a decent one - OR, if you've got a single dvd player and that works well, I'd like to hear from you also...

thanks

David

DVD kenwood 10 disk player is what i have.

modified the rear brackets for the NAV/CD changer, and installed underneath.

fits well. best part: 10 CD/DVDs without having to change EACH and every time.

though i never use it (no kids/passengers!)

LOl

jeff has a single sitting underneath the front seat....

Here's what I would suggest:

There are two classes of 12V DVD players: Japanese-brand units actually designed by the Japanese companies who sell them, and Chinese/Korean designed units, often without real Dolby licenses and often buying MPEG decoder chips off of the backs of docks in the middle of the night, selling crap.

Now, the DVD picture often doesn't look bad on a 7" monitor. The temp performance and the vibration performance will all suffer.

But the biggest issue is audio. If you listen to CDs on it you can tell a huge difference. The pice sold by Rosen/Icon/Sony/etc. is audio-wise a POS.

I'd use a Kenwood or the discontinued Alpine if you can find one anywhere. Short of that, the Panasonic is probably OK.

Thx for the feedback. I love the Apline DHA-S680, just hard to find at a decent price. Do you know what model of Kenwood you have drex?

THat's the part I forgot to type. The price diff is HUGE. It's hard for many people to pony up, bacause the gulf is enormous... but that's what it takes as far as I can tell.

you will usually have a remote eye that you run to the front, and that you control with a remote.
Also are you in europe because a dvd player from europe is coded to play region 2 dvd and will not play dvd here from the U.S. region 1. you should look into that first.
if not you can always try the Clarion VCZ625
