Can't Get Dice Silverline to Connect! Help!

Ordered a Dice Silverline from EAS last week. Just now tried to install it...

I've tried just about everything. I pulled the cd changer and added the silverline. I connected it to the exact specifications. I can't seem to get it to read my ipod. I've actually tried 2 ipods now, mine is a ipod video 5.5 generation 80 gb with firmware 1.3, I also tried a second gen ipod nano with firmware 1.1.3.

I have a 2005 X5 no DSP with Nav.

I've disconnected the 3 pin for 1 min, 10 min, 30 min etc, and I know its the right one because the brown is on the outside and it was connected to my cd changer. I've reset the ipods, I've disconnected the entire Dice, I've disconnected the battery and reset everything on my Navigation. Nothing on the ipod changes when I plug it into the dice, and nothing shows up on the nav screen regarding a connection of any kind..

Could this unit just be DOA or am I doing something wrong or is there a simple solution I am just not doing? Please help!!!!!!!
