Help - No comm link to BC?

Hi,

I've been searching, and reading as much as possibly on an issue I have, but no one seems to have a similar problem.

I have recently bought a 2004 X5 E53, no DSP with Business CD player.

The issue I'm facing is that the CD player does not turn on with the car's ignition (I have to press the power button manually) and that the link with the BC does not work.

I cannot set the time, or access any of the information in the BC, and my local independent BMW mech has said it is very strange and has never come across something like this before.

Can anyone help? suggest things that I could try? I believe if I can get the communication with the BC working, that should solve the radio on/off issue.
